2 Fireside Wine Dinner - Mount Ida Reserve

On Thursday, December 5, we hosted our second annual Fireside Wine Dinner. A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us, we were thrilled to have our first completely sold out pairings dinner!

Our Fireside Dinner is an intimate celebration of the holidays and a great opportunity for our guests to enjoy the Tasting Room all decked out for the season. The kitchen pulled out all the stops in creating our most decadent and elevated pairings menu of the year.

We source locally whenever possible, and many of the dinner’s six courses featured ingredients from small farms in and around the area.

First course – Lamb agnolotti with lamb from Meadow’s Pride Farm. Located in Monterey, VA, this family run farm pasture raises lamb and sheep year round. Each animal is treated with the utmost care and is delivered to our door by the farmer/owner himself.

Second course – Endive salad featuring beautiful Pink Lady apples from Charlottesville’s favorite Carter’s Mountain Orchard

Third course – Pan seared turbot with Virginia grown oyster mushrooms. Our produce company sources from several oyster growers within the state

Fourth course – Steak au poivre featuring our own Mount Ida Farm black angus NY Strip. This plate was the star of the night with the entire dining room applauding as it hit the table.

Sixth course – Preserved Strawberry + Rhubarb tart made with strawberries and rhubarb from our Charlottesville City farmer’s market. Chef stockpiled from several of our community’s vendors to put up preserves to get us through the winter season.

Join us for our next wine dinner on Valentine’s Day!
