Here at Mount Ida Reserve, community means a lot to us…whether it’s the local community or the beer & wine communities in general. We will be doing a series of blog posts of Q&A with movers, makers, and shakers in the beer & wine industry that have this shared appreciation for supporting others in the community.
We couldn’t think of anyone better to kick off this series than Cheers Virginia! Cheers Virginia is a community resource supporting Virginia craft spirits and libations. They are focused on building a vibrant network for the fast growing Virginia spirits and libations community. Serving approximately 800 to 1,000 unique visitors a day, Cheers Virginia offers their visitors a comprehensive directory of breweries, cideries, distilleries, meaderies and wineries as well as supporting businesses and organizations, all broken down by region. They additionally offer a calendar of events for their directory participants and members. Cheers Virginia, formerly the Virginia Beer Trail, began in 2011 as a classroom project when founder Kory Mohr was attending the University of Richmond. Over the years, the site has grown into promoting all aspects of Virginia produced craft spirits and libations. Tim Key keeps our Facebook page up to date with the latest news and information while Kory focuses on the technical aspects of keeping the site up and running.

What goals does Cheers VA have for 2018?
We’d like to continue serving the Virginia libations community by being a “go-to” resource for all things Virginia beer, cider, mead, spirits and wine.
