Your Mount Ida event and/or home stay is coming up and it is time to provide the credit card for your security deposit. The security deposit is a separate amount held as a precaution for any damages during your event or stay. This is not an additional payment for the venue or rental, which you have already paid in full. For further reference, you can find this outlined in your contract under the sections entitled “Security Deposit” and “Payment and Deposit”.

The security deposit is processed as an authorized hold on your credit card. This means the amount will be temporarily held from your available credit balance but will not actually be charged. You may see this listed as a pending charge on your credit card account. We run the card 2 days before your event or check-in and the pending charge will automatically release after approximately 7-10 days, depending on your credit card company’s policies. If we need to charge the card for damages, you will receive an email from us indicating the amount and reason for the charge.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure your card has sufficient available credit for the amount listed and please avoid using a debit card as daily limits often cause the hold to be declined.
